What’s New

The intranet wide update in August 2023 includes significant improvements and changes. 

In addition to there being new features and functionalities there have been changes made to the current areas on the intranet. Some of the changes surrounding Social Apps (Message Wall, Ideas, Groups, Queries & Blogs) are:

Admin Tab – The admin tab is now accessible from within the section of the social app. Here you can now administer:

  • The category (Message Wall, Ideas, Groups & Queries)
  • Comment options
  • App Icon

Dashboard – Dashboard chart headers have been updated to have standardised labeling across social apps

Home

View the ‘Blogs’ ‘Home’ screen 

Steps
    1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select ‘Apps ’option and then ‘Blogs

    2. You will be directed to the Blogs ‘Home’ tab
    3. From here you can:
      • Search for blogs using the search bar
      • +Create’ a blog
      • View existing blogs
      • Filter blogs
      • Save blogs to read/refer to later
      • View the comments for each blog
      • Like a blog
      • Access the ‘Dashboard’ 
      • Access ‘Admin’ settings (App Admins only)

Create

Create new ‘Blog

Steps
    1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select ‘Apps’ option  and then ‘Blogs
    2. You will be directed to the Blogs ‘Home’ tab
    3. Select the  ‘+Create’ option

    4. You will be directed to the ‘Create Blog’ screen. From here:
      • Add the ‘Title’ for your blog
      • Add the blog  
      • Add a ‘Summary
      • Choose a file’ to add an image 
      • Access the ‘Configuration’ options to add:
        •  ‘Tag’ 
    1. Choose a content template. A default template displays here but users with access control can choose an alternative if available.
    2. Once completed, select ‘Save

Edit

Edit existing ‘Blog

Steps
    1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select ‘Apps’ and then ‘Blogs
    2. You will be directed to the Blogs ‘Home’ tab
    3. Select the 3 dots option for the  blog you would like to edit
    4. Select ‘Edit’ option
    5. You will be directed to the ‘Edit Blog’ screen. From here you can update the existing blog
    6. Once completed select ‘Save

Clone

Clone a ‘Blog

Steps
    1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select ‘Apps’ and then ‘Blogs
    2. You will be directed to the Blogs ‘Home’ tab
    3. Select the 3 dots option for the  blog you would like to edit
    4. Select ‘Clone’ option
    5. You will be directed to the ‘Create Blog’ screen. From here you can update the cloned blog 
    6. Once completed select ‘Save

Delete

Delete a ‘Blog

Steps
    1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select ‘Apps’ and then ‘Blogs
    2. You will be directed to the Blogs ‘Home’ tab
    3. Select the 3 dots option for the  ‘Blog’ you would like to edit
    4. Select ‘Delete’ option
    5. A message will be displayed asking whether you are sure you would like to delete the blog. If yes, select ‘DELETE’ to confirm

View

View published ‘Blogs

Steps
  1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar‘ and select ‘Apps’ and then ‘Blogs
  2. You will be directed to the Blogs ‘Home’ tab
  3. Select the blog you would like to read
  4. You will be directed to that blog. From here you can:
    • Read the ‘Blog
    • Leave a comment – If you start adding a comment, you will see the WYSIWYG appear which allows you to insert an image, link, table, horizontal line, format and style the text. Click ‘Post’ to post comment 
    • Save’ blog
    • Like’ blog 
    • View previous comments left on the blog
    • See the number of likes the blogs has currently and names of people who have liked the blog

Like Blog

Dashboard

View the ‘Blogs Dashboard

Steps
  1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar‘ and select ‘Apps’ and then ‘Blogs
  2. You will be directed to the ‘Blogs’ homepage 
  3. Select the ‘Dashboard’ tab 
  4. You will be directed to the dashboard. From here you can view numbers on:
    • Blog counter
    • Highest contributing authors 
    • Blogs by team 
    • Most @ mentions by author
    • Authors by team
    • Authors by location 
    • Top locations
    • Top blog categories

Admin

View the ‘Admin’ screen

Steps
  1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select ‘Apps’ and then ‘Blogs
  2. You will be directed to the ‘Blogs Homepage’ 
  3. Select the ‘Admin’ tab
  4. You will be directed to the ‘Blogs admin’ screen. From here you can access the following tabs:
    • Comment options
      • Activate comments’ – Users can add comments to blogs
      • Activate WYSIWYG editor’ – Users can style the text for comments
    • App icon’ 
      • Select ‘Choose file’ and select image you would like displayed as app icon  
  1. ‘Select ‘Save’ 

Filters 

Search for ‘Blogs’ by using the filter option

Steps

  1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select ‘Apps’ and then ‘Blogs
  2. You will be directed to the Blogs homepage. From here you can sort and filter through blogs by: 
    • Sort by:
      • Newest
      • Oldest 
    • Created date 
    • Author 
      • Search box
      • Select options 
  1. Select ‘Apply
