Background colour and card elevation

If you choose a light or white background for your site, we strongly recommend that you also alter your card elevation style.

There are three elevation styles to choose from, to make cards stand out when they are in an inactive state — you are not hovering over the card — choose between ‘odp (outline)’ or ‘1dp’ in elevation page in Administration.

Changing your site’s background colour:

As a webmaster…

1. Go to Administration from your workbar

2. In the ‘Branding’ category, select ‘Colours’

3. In ‘Intranet background colour *’ field, add your background colour

This is set to HEX code #f5f5f5 but often white, #ffffff, is a preference

4. Select the field and in the mini modal  at the bottom, add #ffffff

5. Select ‘Choose’

6. Select ‘Save to colour scheme’

7. Exit Administration and review your site’s appearance
