Let’s look at the new edit navigation and the new edit taps we’re in sections here. And that’s what we’re going to concentrate on.

0:11

So over on a right of the screen, at the top, we have our new edit menu, you select that and you see the list of items that you can edit, widgets, the layout, the templates, and the content fields of this section, as well as some of the content settings. In the overflow menu, we have manage members, create subsection and delete section.

0:35

Okay. So if we go into the edit menu. You’ll see that dropdown menu be replicated in the tabs we have going from left to right

0:50

Edit section widgets, layout, template, and content. We have a show preview and hide preview in the top bar, a cancel, save, and the overflow menu, which is consistent with the live screen.

1:09

Okay. We can just, go through from widgets, to layout, to template. You’ll notice in the layout tab and template tab, the sidebar automatically opens if you want to go back.

1:22

But it is retractable. So you can go and expand the screen if you’re using full-width layouts.

1:32

And you can also show a preview in all of these tabs, with the template tab, and of course in widgets.

1:43

So you get that preview of what the screen would look like. To open the sidebar up in the widgets tab.

1:49

You select either add widget in a particular region and you’ll open up your widget library. And when you do that, you’ll also open up, categories and then the widgets that live within these categories.

2:08

So, once you select a widget, the sidebar will open up even wider and you’ll get the tabs, the settings, within the sidebar for each individual widget to get out of that.

2:27

You select the close icon and you’re back in the widget screen. Okay. Content is something that is related to the content fields.

2:41

So you’ve got your title of the section, the description that you add to this section, the image, the attachment, the links, internal and external and tags in sections.

2:52

A general topic tag is available and some more advanced search settings. You can relate the section, this forms the structure navigation of your site.

3:01

If it is unrelated, it will feature in the main menu. If it’s related to any of the section, it’s a subsection of that section.

3:08

This root level checkbox is related to a specific widget that will always make this section, the top section. If you’re using internal and in-section navigation. The order goes from the lowest and highest.

3:24

Number one, two, three, four, five, six, that’s the order. It will display from the lowest number.

3:32

You can choose three publishing options:  restricted sections, which are only visible to members, choose to have it published, which is automatically checked.

3:43

You uncheck that to unpublish it and to only view it in preview mode. And to archive the content, this will remove it from search results and from being displayed in widgets.

3:60

So that is a quick guide of our edit menu, edit tabs,  overflow menu, and these top bar buttons, which are new too.

4:14

So if we press cancel, you’ll be given the alert message and we don’t want to save changes. So we’ll go back.

4:23

And that is consistent throughout sections and content types.
