What's New

The new intranet update includes significant improvements and changes. 

In addition to there being new features and functionalities there have been some changes made to current features on the intranet. One the areas that this change has occurred is with ‘Broadcast’:

      • Interface the interface has been updated to make it easier for users to create and configure broadcast messages
      • Preview – It’s now easier to preview the banner before publishing it

What are broadcasts?

 

Broadcasts are enterprise-wide notifications that pop up on users’ screens. They can only be removed if a user selects ‘Dismiss’.

If you want to localise your broadcast; target teams, locations, regions and role grades. Only the users who have been targeted receive your broadcast message.

Guidelines

When to use

Make an announcement or provide a notification from an admin to all users within a single instance.

Appearance

  • Create a simple or more complex message using the available WYSIWYG

Behavior

  • Expires after a set period defined by the admin
  • Can be dismissed by a user

Content

  • Keep the message content such as text and imagery simple and succinct to have maximum impact

Placement

  • Located below the Workbar.

 

 

Step by step

 

Steps
  1. Navigate to the ‘Workbar’ and select the cog icon (Administration
  2. You will be directed to the ‘Administration’ screen  
  3. Select the ‘Broadcast’ tab 
  4. You will be directed to the ‘Broadcast’ screen
  5. To add and configure the ‘Broadcast message’, select the ‘Add message’ button. 
  6. You can add themessage’ in the ‘WYSIWYG‘ editor
  7. To display the broadcast message , select the ‘Display broadcast message’ checkbox under ‘Visibility’
  8. To add an expiry date for the message, select the ‘Expiry date’ checkbox and choose a ‘Date’
  9. You can choose toTarget’ the message atManagers’ or specific ‘Teams’, ‘Locations’, ‘Role grades’ andRegions’ If none of these fields are populated, the message will be targeted at everyone.
  10. You can cancel the changes by selecting the ‘Cancel’ button
  11. By selecting the ‘Send’ button you will see how the message is being displayed on the intranet
  12. Select ‘Edit‘ if you are not happy with the display
